Sterling Silver

Sterling Silver is an alloy containing no less than 92.5% Silver (hence the general 925 stamp for Sterling Silver) and the remaining usually being Copper. Sterling Silver is a fabulous metal to use due to the addition of Copper increasing its strength creating a wonderful piece to last.
Sterling Silver jewellery must to be hallmarked to indicate the purity of the silver alloy, to identify the Silversmith and to note the date and location of the jeweller. Items weighing below 7.78g don’t usually need to be hallmarked according to UK law
